Responsibilities:

Training

  • Create and manage training materials and courses that cover general skills, our company values, remote work best practices, and professional development.
  • Keep our learning platforms updated with relevant and accessible training resources.
  • Work with the team to identify and meet design-related training needs and strategic training goals.
  • Organise company-wide training sessions on themes such as communication, productivity, time management, and career growth.
  • Develop programs that promote continuous learning and professional development for the team.
  • Collaborate with team members and their supervisors to create personalized development plans based on performance review outcomes, ensuring continuous professional growth and readiness for future roles.

Onboarding

  • Lead the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they have a welcoming experience that introduces our company culture and values.
  • Keep onboarding materials current, run initial sessions, and involve other team members when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to manage the Trial Work Week pipeline and ensure a smooth transition for new candidates.

Performance management

  • Assist managers and supervisors in conducting effective performance reviews by providing guidelines, tools, and training on giving constructive feedback and setting achievable performance goals.
  • Assist in designing the review process, managing the performance management platform, and ensuring consistency and fairness in evaluations across the company.

Work environment & communication

  • Promote a culture of open communication and embody Deer Designer values: honesty, communication, ego-free collaboration, and proactivity.
  • Manage internal communication to keep team members informed about key updates, celebrations, and announcements.
  • Encourage team engagement on Slack and other platforms to foster a sense of community.
  • Facilitate upward feedback through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one check-ins.
  • Work with the Production Manager and People Team to address workplace challenges, including wellbeing, time management, and communication.

Engagement

  • Design and implement engagement campaigns with the People Team.
  • Organize and host company-wide events such as monthly huddles and team-building activities.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in talent development, employee engagement, training, or a similar role (remote work experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of training and development strategies, including content creation and program management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and tools (e.g., Learning Management Systems, Google Workspace). Knowledge of Slack and Notion is a plus.
  • A kind, helpful, and proactive attitude, in line with Deer Designer’s core values.
  • Passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and continuous learning.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in creating and implementing training programs or employee engagement initiatives.

Benefits:

  • Location: Home-based (Philippines) - Permanent work from home, co-working space, beach, wherever you'd like as long as you have a laptop and good internet connection.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8h/day, 1pm to 10pm PH time, with core hours being 6pm to 10pm (PH time).
  • Designer Referral: Php 15,000 for each web/graphic designer you refer that joins and stays with us.
  • Paid Time-Off: 15 days of paid leave + 10 unpaid days + 2 sick days paid (after 6 months of tenure).
